WPP Presents VORAX®, a scientific breakthrough in the ideal treatment of nearly all types of Waste such as MSW/Urban, Medical/Hazardous, Industrial, Pasty/Sludge, Liquid, Tyres.

There are 12 different models of VORAX® which have capacities ranging from 2 Tons of Waste per day to our largest model which can treat 400 Tons of Waste per day. Models from 22T/day and up also have steam power generation packages available to create electricity, demonstrating VORAX®’s significant Waste to Energy (WtE) capability.

VORAX® is thought of as a quantum leap over traditional Pyrolysis in part because two thermal processes, one at 900ºC and the other at 1600ºC, forming a thermal gradient, liquefying all solids completely, even inert materials such as sand or iron.

How It Works

VORAX® DuoTherm is a breakthrough technology created for the modern environmentally friendly Green Energy age. More than 10 years of R&D has been invested into its creation, research and development performed by a brilliant team of inventors, scientists and engineers.

VORAX® is the epitome of state of the art, ahead of all known competitors in its efficiency and environmental considerations. It is extremely clean and efficient with its use of twin chambers, “DuoTherm”, which is the basis of its patents in over 40 countries.

The two chambers allow VORAX® to treat waste of essentially all types and then combusts the bad gasses internally (without exposure to outside air) that comes from the waste treatment process.

It’s primary output is exhaust heat which can be used as a source of electricity generation when paired with a steam based power plant which WPP provides through alliances with Siemens, GE Baker Hughes and CAI.

Ardau

Ardau™ - Pollutant-free, ultra low cost power from Carbon Waste

Ardau™ can use any carbon feedstock as fuel, such as coal, industrial waste or agricultural waste. By means of an exothermic chemical reaction, Ardau™  can extract the maximum energy from the waste. In addition, the by-products can generate a secondary revenue stream.

Ardau™ carbon reactor units provide sustainable base load, non-polluting and low-cost electricity from any waste fossil fuels or carboniferous materials. The patented exothermic chemical reaction in the super-critical state allows the maximum extraction of energy.

The device named Ardau™ is a carbon reactor.  It produces heat and power on a commercial scale from any form carbon, and does so more efficiently than any other current method.   All outputs can be captured and stored, reused or sold, so there is no escape of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

There is no new technology involved in the process.  It uses tried and tested technologies in a new configuration.

In addition to sustainable base load, non-polluting and low-cost energy, by-products such as water (H2O), hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) can be produced, captured and provided to third parties.

Any carboniferous material (>5% carbon content when dry) can be used to feed the chemical reaction. This allows multiple feedstock combinations.

Energy Produced by the Recycling

Hydrogen

Current methods of producing hydrogen are recognised as being expensive.

The Ardau™ reactor can be configured to produce hydrogen as well as electricity.  Because of the high temperatures in the Ardau™ reactor hydrogen can be produced either by water splitting or by steam reforming, whichever better matches the needs of the user.  As heat is generated so efficiently in the reactor the cost of the hydrogen produced is much lower than with other production methods.

 

Clean Water

Clean water is a by-product of the Ardau™ process, so the system can function as a low cost desalination facility.

 

Electricity

The output from the Ardau reactor is used to power a turbo-expander to generate electricity.  Systems are available with capacities between 5MWh and 50MWh.  Systems can be placed in parallel so that 10 x 50MWh systems side by side will produce 500MWh.

For major users the fuel can be coal, lignite, waste coal and other carboniferous materials currently regarded as too ‘dirty’ for normal use.  Such materials can be bought cheaply as other markets for them are limited.

The percentage efficiency in conventional power stations is between 18% and 49% for steam and gas turbines and 63% for ‘combined cycle’ power plants.  An Ardau installation will operate at over 80% efficiency.  This and the use of low-cost ‘dirty’ materials reduces the costs of electricity generation dramatically.

For power requirements in remote locations an Ardau system can be delivered in a 40 foot container by rail, lorry or helicopter.

 

Waste-to-Energy

Waste-to-energy installations generating electricity and selling it can be extremely profitable, particularly if there are ‘gate fees’ for the waste.  In such cases the fuel is actually an additional source of revenue, not a cost.
